A Makeover

It’s been a bit quiet here on Live Run Love Yoga and if you’ve been checking in for the last year or so you know this isn’t anything new. I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about the future of this blog. Many a times I’ve comes this close to writing a farewell post and saying goodbye but something held me back. After a lot of thought I decided that my blog needed a new look and direction. A fresh start if you will.

The old LiveRunLoveYoga felt like it represented my 25-year-old self, which is perfect because that’s how old I was when I created this blog. It was paisley, colorful, and solely focused on running and yoga. At almost 29 years old I don’t love paisley nearly as much, appreciate the simplicity in patterns and design, and have much more to focus on than just running and yoga. I also love the color coral, it just feels right.

Numerous people have asked me about my blog in the past year, and I always find myself saying that there is only so much you can say about yoga, and only so many posts you can write about your runs. I guess the reality is that those two things aren’t much of a focus for me anymore, they are just part of my life.  I don’t teach yoga regularly and to be honest I don’t practice regularly either. Actually, I haven’t practiced yoga since early March. I do run regularly but only 2 to 3 times a week and only about 3 or 4 miles. I don’t have any races planned at the moment and that’s OK with me. I love running and yoga but my life has so much more than just those things.

Life Interests

So what have I been focusing on beyond running and yoga? To start, being a happy wife. I’ve been soaking up every moment of being a newlywed. I’ve been building  a home with Michael. We’ve painted almost every room in our house, bought new furniture, and decorated each room. I’ve learned that I love DIY and you can do so much with a can of spray paint. We’ve spent hours ripping up ivy in our backyard, planting new flower beds, and reclaiming our yard from the encroaching woods. I’ve been spending time in the kitchen baking, and am semi-obsessed with layer cakes. They are just so fun to bake! I’ve fallen in love with reading again and have been devouring books left and right. I’ve been spending time with my family and friends. Our calendar has never been so full of plans with our friends, and I absolutely love it.  I’ve been focusing on my job, working hard each and everyday to build a successful marketing program.

I love who I’ve become in the 3 years since I started this blog and I’m pretty sure my 25-year-old self would too. I’m excited to share all of my interests here on the blog- DIY, baking, good books, highlights from our travels, and more. You’ll still find plenty of posts about running and yoga (as soon as I get back on the mat) too. I hope you’ll come back and learn more about all the things that make me “me”!

What would you like to see on the new Live Run Love Yoga?

I’m excited to keep reading! I’m 23 and I have started and stopped writing on my blog many times, but like you, I’m sure I’ll continue changing directions as I grow, too!
