Zico Review and Giveaway!

Thank you all so much for your kind words on yesterday’s post.  I seriously loved reading all of your comments, a few of you made me teary eyed.  It’s amazing to me how many of you are struggling with the same thing and I can only hope my story gave you some encouragement to stick with it and find a job or career that makes you happy.  Like I said yesterday, the journey isn’t easy but it’s worth it.  With hard work, dedication and perseverance anything is possible.  Remember that.

Moving on to something fun for all of you…A few weeks back Zico Coconut Water asked me if I’d like to try out some of their products.  I’ve tried some other brands in the past and they were good but I have always felt that coconut water had an odd taste that can be hard to tolerate at times.  It’s not something I ever crave but drink knowing that it’s hydrating and good for me.  In hopes of finding a coconut water that minimized that taste I decided to give it a try.

A few weeks later my package from Zico came. The coconut water came in a cute insulated bag and had a hand written note with it (love that little detail!). This little bag is perfect for the beach, hiking and picnics!

Zico Coconut Water!

I was in the midst of yoga teacher training when it arrived and was spending my days in a 90 degree studio with no air conditioning, in other words the perfect place to try Zico!  I’ve learned that I only like coconut water when it is ice-cold and always keep it in the fridge.   I first tried the natural flavor since it came in a single serving container and was easy to take to the studio.  I have to say, I really enjoyed this variety.  That after taste I don’t love is mild when compared to other brands and overall I just liked the taste of it.  It was light and refreshing!

Zico Natural Coconut Water

Tip: Coconut water is great to add to smoothies, it adds some extra hydration to your morning breakfast or afternoon snack! And speaking of mixing, coconut water is great for making pina coladas and other delicious drinks…you know just in case you needed a drink idea for the upcoming long weekend!

Zico also sent me some of their chocolate coconut water.  I was quite excited to give this a try and let.me.tell.you it is delicious!  I’ve been drinking this at night, post run or in the afternoon when I want something different than standard water.  It’s smooth and creamy with just enough chocolate taste to it.  How coconut water can have flavoring like that I don’t know, but it can.  And it’s good.  Trust me.

My husband loves coconut water to hydrate after his long runs. I haven’t tried it yet but would love to try the chocolate .:) What makes me sweat the most? Getting sweaty with Vendetti on Sunday mornings at South Boston Yoga.

I LOVE Zico! I use it to make my green smoothies. It’s funny because I also used to think that it tasted funny and didn’t love it but I do love it in my smoothies. Don’t know what it is but I feel like it rounds out the flavor or something. Workout that makes me sweat the most I think is spin class.

I haven’t tried Zico coconut water yet, but would love to…especially the chocolate! Like you, I prefer it cold and use it to hydrate during hot yoga class! Hot vinyasa is definitely where I sweat the most and am so glad I found coconut water to keep me hydrated during class…and for the grip towel to keep me from sliding off the mat!!

Yum! I LOVE Zico, it’s the only brand I really like. The chocolate is unreal!! So so good. I also like to use it in marinades (not the chocolate LOL), the pineapple one is good for that, or the natural is good when making stir fry and I need a little extra moisture and don’t want to use oil! I tweeted 🙂 and already like you and Zico on FB and Twitter! (glad you loved all the comments yesterday, so excited for you!)
