Vita Coco and A Giveaway!

Happy Friday!!! Are you so excited for the weekend? I am! Tonight were going to a casino night for charity.  We went last year and had so much fun! I have a 13 mile run on deck tomorrow with Team in Training.  My friend and running partner Lauren will be there this week and since I haven’t seen her in two weeks I’m fully expecting a very chatty run.  Perfect if you ask me!  Afterwards Michael and I are heading to Rhode Island to spend the night with his best friend and his wife and their 3 little boys.  We always have a blast with them so I’m really looking forward to it!  Fun weekends always make me happy.  Well really, any weekend makes me happy!

So you all know I love to end the week with something fun and light-hearted and today I have just that! If you recall a few weeks ago I went to a fantastic event that was a fundraiser for Yoga Reaches Out. One of the sponsors and donors of the event was Vita Coco.  What I personally love about Vita Coco as a brand is that I’ve seen them out at events like that fundraiser, running races and meet ups, community Zumba classes in the park, and at my local gym.  I feel like as a brand they are really trying to connect with real people who use their product.  I like that a lot.  When I was contacted by them after the fundraiser to work with them on a project and do a giveaway I was immediately interested.  And lucky for you that means some lucky readers will win some coconut water!

So What is Vita Coco Anyway?

Vita Coco’s an all-natural, super-hydrating, fat-free, cholesterol-free, nutrient-packed, potassium-stacked, mega-electrolyte coconut water!

It’s a great alternative to your normal tap water.  It can be used as a sports drink after moderate exercise and can even help you look younger thanks to the cytokinins that it contains!  It also contains potassium which can help improve heart health and lower blood pressure (you should get your potassium from whole foods but a little extra from coconut water can’t hurt).  Since it is low in calories, fat-free and cholesterol-free is a great alternative when your craving something a little more exciting than plain water.

I personally enjoy the Tangerine flavor.  The hint of orange is a nice addition to the coconut water! Another favorite of mine is the peach and mango flavor.  It is really good and one of my go to’s!  I like to drink Vita Coco after my runs and workouts, and I also usually have a bottle of it on my desk to sip on throughout the day.

Vita Coco has offered to give away a grand prize of two cases of coconut water to one lucky reader! Two other lucky readers will win a single case of coconut water! How cool is that?  You’ll be able to hydrate and enjoy like I do!

I love coconut water and do pick up thai young coconuts from time to time but they are pretty consuming to dismantle and then you have to eat the meat. I would drink these after workouts or make popsicles as the weather warms up.

Since I know I’m not drinking enough water each day – water just doesn’t appeal to me since there’s no flavour – I am interested in trying to drink coconut water like the pineapple Vita Coco. I would drink it after workouts or just take it on the go wherever I may be.

I happen to be a coconut water ADDICT and Vita Coco IS my absolute fave. It is NOT FROM CONCENTRATE! I’m a fitness fanatic (hello power yoga, running and (has anyone tried it? ah-maz-ing) so I always drink it after my workouts.

    Tiff- congrats on the half-marathon!!

I use VitaCoco as a reward for exercising. I won’t let myself drink one unless I’ve ran or gone to yoga that day. It’s such a treat and it encourages me to work out 🙂 I just signed up yesterday for the subscribe and save to VitaCoco on Amazon, so I will get a case delivered every month at 15% off. I recommend it!

This means I’ll have to work out at least 12 days a month, right? Not bad… 🙂

Glad I found this on Twitter today and maybe I’ll see you running or downdogging around Boston… @jennybaryski

I tried VitaCoco pineapple this past fall and it was delicious! I would love to win so I could drink this after my high intensity workouts at the gym and (once the weather gets warmer) after my runs & bike rides outside to refuel & re-hydrate my muscles.
Been following you on your blog, fb & twitter for the past 4+ months and love it! Just tweeted the contest @NicoleFlieger, and followed and liked VitaCoco! Keep up the great work Whitney!
