Product Review: VSX Supermodel Sports Bra!

Hey Guys! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!  Mine was so relaxing and exactly what I needed.  Saturday morning I had to go to the official kick-off for Team in Training for the Boston Marathon 2012.  I got to meet my mentor, Sharon and the rest of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Staff and volunteers as well as the other runners.  I was impressed by how many people are fundraising and will be running their first marathon! That is quite the challenge.  We also got to meet some of the patient ambassadors and heard some VERY touching stories.  It was an inspiring morning and made me excited for the challenge.  We wrapped the morning up with a 5 mile run.  It was a perfectly cool, sunny December morning and a beautiful route.  If you are interested in reading more about why I am running the Boston Marathon for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or to make a donation please visit my fundraising page.  Your support goes to a great cause!

Afterwards, Michael and I had lunch in Boston and walked around the Back Bay.  It was such a nice afternoon and great to see the city all decorated for the holidays!  We wrapped up the night with some takeout Thai food and a Mad Men marathon.  It was awesome!  Sunday neither of us were in the mood for a run and I wasn’t really feeling yoga.  My hip has been sore and I think yoga has been aggravating it a bit.  We wanted to get moving so we headed out for a walk.  We did about 4 miles and walked for about an hour and half!  We walked all over Boston and stopped and got a tea when were almost done.  It was a really great way to spend time together on a Sunday morning!  The rest of the day was spent at Mike’s parents house, socializing with friends and watching football!  It was a fantastic weekend!

So today I want to do a review on the Victoria’s Secret Sports Bra! I know, you don’t think of Victoria’s Secret as a source for sports bras.  And really why would you when there are brands like Champion, Nike, Moving Comfort, and Lululemon? This is one of my favorite sports bras!  It’s comfortable, it fits well, it keeps me dry, it washes nicely, it shapes me well (no uni-boob) and the price is right. Yes, this is no $50 sports bra.  In fact, it costs $26.50.  And if your like me, you get those $10 off a bra coupons every week which means you can score this bra for a mere $16.50! So let’s take a look at the details…

Front of Sports Bra

The sports bra is made of nylon and spandex.  The fabric is stretchy, yet supportive which feels great during runs, yoga and classes at the gym.  The material is quick drying.  Even when it’s damp with sweat on the hottest of days it doesn’t leave that wet bathing suit feeling.  I’m a fan.

Back of Sports Bra

As a point of reference I am a full C cup, I think it’s important for you all to know that since I really can’t say how this bra would be for someone larger than me.  This bra is double layered so it provides ample support for running, yoga and classes at the gym.  I have never come across an instance where this bra did not provide enough support for me.  I often wear this bra running and find it comfortable, non-chaffing and supportive.

Sports Bra Detail

What I love about this bra is the fit.  It comes high enough so that it completely supports you but does not dig in to your arm pits or pull too much on the shoulders.  I find that sports bras often cut into those areas which is extremely uncomfortable.  I have worn this bra on 20 mile runs and have loved it!  Here’s some photos to show you the fit on me, again I am a C cup.

I’d really recommend this bra if you’re looking for a good multi-sport bra that is at a reasonable price.  This is the perfect bra to have in your gym bag to wear to the gym, use as a back up if you forget a more supportive, high-impact bra and to slip on post workout to head home.  I find myself constantly wearing this bra and love it as much as my other more expensive bras.  They have a multitude of colors from black to hot pink to neon green.  I’ve noticed that not all Victoria’s Secret stores carry the VSX line so you may have to order online if your local store does not carry it.  It can be found on their website under VSX Supermodel Sports Bra.  It retails for $26.50!

How was your weekend?  Did you relax?  What kind of workouts did you fit in?  For the women out there, what brand of sports bras do you like?  Would you be willing to give this one a try?

Sounds like you had a great weekend! I however did not have such a relaxing weekend, very busy with volunteering and coaching at Harvard all weekend and I definitely felt the fatigue on my run this morning!

Maybe you said this in your post but are these bras available online? I can’t seem to find them. I knew Victoria Secret had a more athletic line of bras and clothing and I have been wanting to check it out. I’m a big fan of Lululemon but I definitely want to start branching out because as you probably know, Lululemon can get a bit pricey!
