I’ve been a bit pre-occupied with running lately. This is probably because in less than 30 days we will be running the Chicago Marathon. Have you figured out that I am beyond excited?! Just because I have been running ALOT lately does not mean I am not practicing yoga. I still get to class during my lunch break on Tuesdays and Thursdays and squeeze in another class at the gym or a session on my own at home. Which is why I want to tell everyone about National Yoga Month…happening NOW!
Yes, September is National Yoga Month! There are tons of great opportunities to take part in this. On September 30th at 7pm there will be a Global Community Practice. Over 1600 studios nationwide are giving away 1 free week worth of yoga classes. I think this is a great time to get out there and try that new studio you have been meaning to go to. Or pick up a new style to practice just to change things up a bit!
If your studio is not listed here and participating you may want to look around for Community Yoga classes. Here in Boston they are offered for $5. You may also want to take a look around and find out if there are any free classes in your town this month. In Boston, there is free yoga happening at The Hatch Shell on the Esplanade on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM and at The Liberty Hotel on Saturdays at 10 AM. I challenge you all to take at least one yoga class this month! You may have been dying to try it, some one who practiced regularly and lost their routine, busy with work and missing your practice or someone who never misses a class. Who you are or whatever your story we can all benefit from a yoga class! So go on and enjoy Yoga Month!
