Things I’m Loving Lately! Spring Style!

Standard

Happy Friday! I’m so excited for the weekend.  One of my best friends is coming this weekend for some much-needed girl time.  I’m really looking forward to hanging out in the city with her and catching up!  Shopping, wine, dinner, exploring the city…sounds good to me!  My allergies have been killing me lately; I have itchy eyes, plugged ears, a scratchy throat and I am just tired.  Traffic was horrible last night and I considered skipping my run and just relaxing.  What they say is true though, you’ll never regret a workout.  I decided to go for a run because I knew it would make me feel better.  I ended up running 3 miles nice and easy.   It felt so good and my stress melted away!  A little fresh air, movement and sunshine is all that I need!

Since spring has sprung and summer is on its way here are a few things I am absolutely loving lately!

Cole Haan Molly Flat Sandal.

It always seems like my sandals wear out every couple of years and need to be replaced.  I recently bought these sandals and absolutely love them.  They are nice neutral color which means they will go with everything!  They are so comfortable because they have Nike air technology in the sole and with a little bit of lift they are really comfortable.  Love them!

Lululemon Groove Crops and Power Y Tank.

I received these crops and tank at the Lululemon exclusive after party on Marathon Monday. I was beyond excited to be invited to the event and absolutely love the outfit they gave me! When I shop at Lululemon I tend to always buy the pretty new patterns and bright colors so I was happy to see something that I wouldn’t necessarily pick.  I actually love the outfit and have been wearing it a ton!

Essie Nail Polish.

I mentioned this about a month ago but I am so obsessed with this stuff! I’ve been buying a new color every week.  It lasts forever and rarely chips.  I also love how fast it dries! I am definitely loving this stuff!

Fifty Shades.

I’m almost done with book 2 and love this series.  I really only started reading it to just see what the hype was all about.  Then the cliff hanger at the end of book one left me wondering what happens and now I’m committed to the series.  Ladies, definitely a good, easy, beach read!

Love These Books!

Mizuno Wave Inspire.

I ran the Boston Marathon in these shoes and didn’t hesitate to buy another pair.  They fit my feet really well and hold up well when I am running high miles.  I’m loving the purple, white and black combo!

Holiday Gift Ideas for the Yogi in Your Life!

Standard

Christmas is right around the corner! Can you believe it is that time of year already? I know you’re all making your Christmas shopping lists and trying to decide what to get the runner, health enthusiast, fashionista, cook and everyone in between on your list.  I thought I would share some ideas for the Yogi on your list! Whether they are new to yoga or have been practice for years 5 days a week all of these gifts will be sure to please them!  So here’s 6 yoga gift ideas for this holiday season!

Mats.

There is a wide variety of mats out there and one for every price range! Here are some of my favorites:

Gaiam sells a great mat with a nice thickness for $21.98! It comes in a variety of colors!

“68 Yoga Essentials Mat

Lululemon sells a mat that I love.  It’s light weight and perfect for the yogi on the go and has alignment lines on it to help keep you positioned correctly!  It sells for $28.00 and comes in a variety of colors!

The Align Ultra Mat

Jade Yoga sells a more high-end mat.  This is a heavy mat with a nice thickness to it.  It’s sticky for those who sweat and it is designed to absorb moisture.  This mat retails for $69.95 and has multiple colors too! This is the perfect mat for the more advanced yogi!

Harmony Professional Yoga Mat

Blocks and Straps.

Every yogi needs blocks and straps! They help to keep you aligned and allow you to get deeper and be more comfortable in poses.   There are many styles out there for yogis from cork blocks, to recycled foam to the all grip yoga block.  Prices range from $8.00 to $24.98.  Visit Gaiam’s Brick’s and Straps page for some options!

Yoga Skidless Towels.

These a perfect for the yogi who sweats a lot, takes hot yoga or who uses mats provided by the studio!  They help to absorb sweat as it drips on the mat.  In addition they keep the mat from becoming slippery making you feel more stable during poses.  If you use the gym mats you can cover up all the germs!  I’d try Yogitoes which are sold in a variety of colors and at multiple stores.

DVDs!

Every yogi is going to come across a time where they want to practice but can’t make a class, there isn’t one offered or they just want to practice at home.  Bring the yoga studio to them by giving them DVDs! Gaiam offers a multitude of DVDs from beginner videos to more advanced power yoga videos.  Better yet, get them the Gaiam Yoga Studio! This offers them personalized classes in their own home for a monthly fee! You can find all of these options here.

Clothes.

There are so many high-end yoga stores out there offering everything from pants to tank tops to hot yoga shorts and bras.  It’s been my experience that Lululemon seems to be the most loved and lusted.  So surprise your yogi with a pair of Lululemon’s Groove Pants for Women! They retail for $98.00 and they come in a wide array of colors and patterns!

Pair it with the Lululemon Power Y Tank for a complete yoga outfit!  They tank retails for $52.00 and come in coordinating colors and patterns to match the pants!  Your yoga girl is sure to love it!

I know my boyfriend is lusting after the Luluemon Metal Vent Tech Sleeveless Top for his next hot yoga class! This top costs $48.00.  prAna make a great yoga pant for men as well! This retails for $70.00.  Find it here.

Passes for Classes.

Yoga classes can be expensive.  At my favorite studio, South Boston Yoga a book of 10 classes costs $130 dollars. A monthly unlimited pass costs $150.  Give your yogi the gift of yoga by purchasing them monthly classes or a 10 pack of classes to their favorite yoga studio! Trust me. They will love it and be so grateful!

Hopefully these gift ideas will help make your holiday shopping a bit easier! Just one of these items will put a smile on your yogi’s face Christmas morning!
