Happy Wednesday! Last night I went for an amazing run in the rain. What is it about running in the rain that is so calming and peaceful? Rain runs are such a good way to relax. I ran free and didn’t worry about my pace or time. It felt so good! The 5 miles I set out for flew by! It made me so happy!
It seems fitting that today is What I Ate Wednesday after yesterdays post about weight loss and cleanses. As always many thanks to Jen at Peas and Crayons for hosting the party!
Breakfast.
I mixed it up this week with hard-boiled eggs, some cantaloupe and a homemade banana nut muffin. This breakfast reminded me of my trip to Italy and the breakfasts I enjoyed there.
My goal is to get more lean protein and fruit into my breakfast. I enjoyed the change and was satisfied all the way until lunch time!
Lunch.
I decided to change things up this week with a salad of mixed greens, falafel, cucumbers, black olives and red peppers with a little bit of balsamic vinaigrette on the side. I had some blue corn tortilla chips on the side, an apple and yogurt with granola for an afternoon snack!
It was a nice change from my usual sandwiches and leftovers!
Dinner.
The other night I was craving food with a Greek flair. I ended up making a greek style pita with chicken, feta cheese, lettuce, couscous, Kalamata olives and tzatziki sauce. On the side I had a chick pea salad with black beans, peppers and herbs. It was exactly what I was craving!
I actually only had one of the wraps since they were so filling! Delicious!
I’m looking forward to seeing what all of you are eating! I get so many good ideas from everyone’s posts!
